X-Map Technology

The Luminex 100 immunochemistry analyser has been used to analyse up to 14 cytokines simultaneously from a few microlitres of sample; more are possible. X map technology employs antibodies to specific analytes bound to colour coded beads. The instrument can differentiate between bead types and measure the fluorescence produced by activated sites on the bead surface. Kits are available for the analysis of a range of human, rat and mouse cytokines, endocrines etc.
