Innovation is vital in the food & drink industry to capture and sustain a competitive edge in very tough markets. The Scottish Food & Drink Innovation Network aims to identify the key areas where new knowledge and ideas can be applied to support growth in your business. Our role is to support the whole industry, from researchers to retailers, all with a shared interest in developing practical solutions which will give Scotland a competitive advantage.

Over the coming months a series of workshops will be held around key food and drink themes including health, packaging, processing and waste management. The purpose of these workshops is to identify the main challenges and opportunities in these areas and to build collaborative projects, involving all the players necessary, to develop practical solutions to overcome these challenges and exploit the opportunities. This will include support to access the finance required to enable you to progress ideas successfully to a practical solution, thereby adding value to your business.

The project is delivered by a partnership between Leatherhead Food International (LFI) and Rowett Research Services (RRS). LFI is an internationally recognised service provider of information, consultancy and scientific services for the global food industry, with a clear understanding of the fundamental skills needed to turn good science into commercial reality. RRS specialises in knowledge transfer through the promotion of research collaborations, development and exploitation of ideas.
